🚀 WP Audit v2.0.1 Build 15: 21 New Deep-Scan Checks, Passkeys & 281+ Audits

We’re excited to introduce WP Audit v2.0.1 Build 15, a major update that takes WordPress auditing deeper than ever.

This release adds 21 new advanced deep-scan checks, bringing WP Audit to 281+ automated audits across 18 categories. We’ve also added Passkey security support for modern, phishing-resistant authentication.

Unlike traditional surface-level scans that analyze what visitors and search engines can see, deep scans look under the hood—examining PHP configuration, database health, WordPress core settings, caching, server performance, and more.

🔒 Hardened Security — 5 New Checks

The new security checks help identify configuration issues that can create serious risks, including:

  • Redis/Memcached object cache authentication

  • WordPress Application Password exposure

  • Non-default wp_ database table prefixes

  • WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE configuration

  • Dangerous ALLOW_UNFILTERED_UPLOADS settings

⚡ Aggressive Performance — 5 New Checks

WP Audit can now identify performance issues that are often missed by external crawlers:

  • Debugging plugins such as Query Monitor running in production

  • WordPress Heartbeat API throttling

  • Excessive WP_POST_REVISIONS

  • PHP OPcache configuration

  • System-level cron offloading with DISABLE_WP_CRON

🔍 Technical SEO & Rich Snippets — 4 New Checks

The update also expands technical SEO analysis with checks for:

  • Custom logo configuration

  • Structured data and schema plugins

  • Open Graph tag coverage

  • Media library image ALT attributes

🗄️ Environment & Database Health — 7 New Checks

Deep scans can now inspect critical server and database conditions, including:

  • wp_options autoloaded data size, including critical bloat above 1MB

  • MySQL table lock bottlenecks

  • PHP display_errors and log_errors configuration

  • WordPress memory allocation

  • Transactional SMTP deliverability

  • Web server stack detection and benchmarking across LiteSpeed, Nginx, and Apache

🔑 Passkey Security Support

Build 15 also introduces Passkey support, providing users with a modern and more secure authentication method that helps protect accounts against phishing and password-related attacks.

💼 More Powerful for Agencies

These new capabilities make WP Audit especially valuable for agencies and WordPress professionals.

A surface scan might tell you that a website looks healthy from the outside. A deep scan can uncover database bottlenecks, PHP configuration problems, caching issues, security weaknesses, and server-level performance problems that external crawlers simply cannot see.

That means more actionable recommendations for clients—and more opportunities to demonstrate the value of ongoing WordPress maintenance, optimization, and security retainers.

⚠️ Important: Update Your Companion Agent Plugin

To use the new deep-scan checks and features, users must update their WP Audit Companion Agent plugin to the latest version.

You can update the agent plugin from your WP Audit User Account.
